Ferrets' Situation Report
26 May 2003

HAIL TO THE CHIEF, HE'S OUR CHIEF, AND HE NEEDS HAILING

A busy couple of months for Ferretkind. First of all, a Ferrety welcome to new guy Joystc, a.k.a. Andrew's dad. The family that flies together, cries together?... no... uh... complies together? Tries? Applies? Well in any case it's interesting to have a father and son team on the crew.

Secondly, a fond farewell to Ferrets Fubar and Zama. These fine gentlemen have simply grown weary of WarBirds for one reason or another, and decided to pack it in. We wish them the very best in their new pursuits, whatever they may be, and we sincerely hope to meet again somewhere out there in the happy hunting grounds of cyberspace.

The departure of Fubar means of course a vacancy in the brass hat department. Capt. Humble has agreed to fill Fubar's big shoes as our new Executive Ossifer. Humble will I'm sure do a bang-up job leading us to victory again and again, confounding our enemies, etc. Capt. Doones has stepped forward to replace Humble as Adjutant Ossifer, ditto. Thanks to Master-at-Arms Momo for managing the transition, and thanks to all the Ferrets for their two cents. There were plenty of sensible suggestions put forward. As it happened, our senior officers stepped forward, for which I'm most thankful. Bravo, gentlemen.

So you'll notice that we lost two and gained one ossifer... which means we're recruiting. Nominations anyone? Feel free to point potential recruits at this webpage for the straight dope.

In other news, Gldnbb is cutting a real swath in the WW2A now that he's upgraded to the premium all-you-can-eat account. Go, man, go! Troy, Warone and Gldnbb have all earned a promotion or two in the past few tours. Great work, lads.

The new PTO arena turned out to be kind of a bust, owing to the massive framerate hits experienced by some users. iEN assures us that issue has been already addressed, so we all look forward to the next WB updater, which we're told will also include the new ETO terrain, for which the S3 has been delayed. Deep breath.

iEN opened up the Main Arena again this tour, after a year or so off the list... a real can of worms, but folks seem to have voted with their feet yet again and remain in the WW2A for the most part.

Off topic, Dawn of Aces III is supposedly in the offing, and we're still looking for someone with a stable Day of Defeat server for a possible squad meet.
