Four new Ferrets enlisted in February! Welcome again Swmpfx aka Dean, -Zama- aka Norm, Gldnbb aka Lars, and Ferret aka Pat! This brings our official roster to sixteen... however...
- Bluebb is, we hope, computer shopping. Can't ya just seize one?
- Jaime- has been afflicted with an acute case of Real Life, but will, we hope, stage a return in a month or two.
- Troll- is dissatisfied with WB's in general, and isn't likely to return until iEN gets its shit together. I'll change his status soon as he tells me to stop sending him squad email.
- Man-hi declared before joining up that his sole interest is in the S3's. Still, I'll take this opportunity to suggest that a couple of squad night practice sessions with the rest of us mightn't hurt, long as you're paying for it anyway.
- Gldnbb doesn't own a premium account, so for the time being he's restricting his participation to the S3's first, and Thursday night squad nights second.
- -Momo- and Andrew are usually absent on Mondays owing to RL obligations, q.v.
So, typically we'll top out at around 9 pilots on Mondays, 12 pilots on Thursdays, and god-knows-how-many on Sundays. That's a lot of mustelidae, and as we've been discovering, a large squad needs to be more careful with its communications protocol. We'll keep a discussion on this subject going at the brand-spankin-new Ferrets' Forum. We'll get there eventually, I'm sure... meanwhile, backup all important xmits with text messages on tac channel 42. ALWAYS monitor tac channel 42 and squad channel 110 unless otherwise directed!
And speaking of the Squad Select Series, our first try has been rather rocky thus far. For the next series, I hope to pair us up as escorts with Wallyg's outfit, the 100thBG(H). Hopefully this could work out to be a long-term S3 relationship, which would certainly relieve a lot of the planning headaches, and decrease our frustration levels generally. The 100th also likes to swap sides (Axis/Allied), and I've proposed that on those occasions when the 100th isn't assigned escorts we function as a combined group flying whatever. This preserves our guiding principle of "every side, every ride," while giving us some degree of stability. In any event, I've been talking with RailRd, the 100th's C/O, and Roan, the S3 bossman, and expect to have more news soon.
Further to the subject of Wallyg, I'll take this opportunity to present, for the first time ever, the soon-to-be-coveted Legion of Ferret for service above and beyond the call of virtual duty. Salute, Wallyg!
Last but not least, I processed a few MONTHS worth of screen caps and posted them today. Among them (in the screenCaps folder proper) are a whole bunch that Doones sent me, and didn't get posted for some reason. Sorry.
