Ferrets' Situation Report
22 April 2002

DESTROY IMMEDIATELY BY FIRE OR INGESTION

Last night marked the end of what was arguably our most successful tour-of-duty ever, and Thursday (last SN of the tour) our best squad night ever. Here's how it shook out for the Ferrets this time round, flying Allied planes in the Med theatre...

TOD-020401   Mission Map    Scores
ASN-020401 hcrana, fubar-, -momo-, doones. One field capture, 3 attempts, and a whack of kills in our B25s.
SN-020404 hcrana, fubar-, -momo-, humble, doones, tearza. Two captures, 5 attempts. Thanks to karma- for helping out.
ASN-020408 hcrana, fubar-, humble, doones, tearza. Two captures, 3 attempts. Hard fought. Beginning of "The Curse of Field Seven."
SN-020411 hcrana, fubar-, -momo-, humble, bluebb, doones, tearza. A full house. Three captures, 5 attempts. "The Curse of Field Seven" continued. Doones strafes a CV to death. Thanks to pipero, norman, and docpil.
ASN-020415 hcrana, fubar-, humble, doones, tearza. Three captures, 4 attempts. Yours truly jabo-ed a CV, and we ran the infamous "Cheating Slut-Boy" mission. Hard-fought, interesting, contentious.
SN-020418 hcrana, fubar-, -momo-, humble, bluebb, doones, tearza. A full house. Five captures, 5 attempts. Best squad night ever! Captures included a "double-capture" mission (2 small fields simultaneously), a double-runway field, and a large field (with bridge) thus breaking "The Curse of Field Seven". Still amazed that I managed to sneak the JU under the very noses of five waiting defenders. Thanks to agento for helping out.

Our end-of-tour rankings were great. The Ferrets finished up as 16th fighter and 2nd bomber squad overall... our best showing ever. New guy Tearza made the top 500 and got his last "soft" promotion, to 2nd Lt. -- you'll have to work for the next one, Lieutenant. Fubar made 25th bomber pilot, Humble 43rd, Bluebb 19th, and Doones 50th. Bluebb and Doones also made the fighter list, finishing 55th and 40th, respectively. 2nd Lt. Momo remains 2nd Lieutenant, despite being the senior Ferret. What would his mother say? C'mon, Momo, you could make the top hundred in a day -- no excuses now that you've got your precious Zero back for the next six weeks.

Yours truly, through superhuman effort and acute lack of a life, finished as top bomber pilot this tour, thus attaining the ultimate and exalted rank of Colonel. Bow down, mortals! To be perfectly honest, if I never see another oil refinery again, it'll be way too soon. Thanks to all the Ferrets for supporting me in my folly, and to my arch-rival tumamu who, aside from being a relentless bastard with poor English skills, is a helluva swell guy.

Several pilots earned decorations this tour. Your C/O won the Order of the Falcon for 5000 career structures destroyed; Bluebb won the Silver Star for his whopping 2500th career kill; and Doones won an Air Combat Medal for a bomber streak of 5 kills, as well as an Air Combat Cross for 5 kills in a sortie.

ASIDE: I found out where Topjmy has been hiding out these days. Ask me sometime and I'll tell you. Also, Fubar's Photoshop Plug-In for reading WB BMPs has already been downloaded 19 times. We're geek heroes! WTG, Mr. X/O.

PLEASE NOTE also that we're flying Axis planes in the wild and whacky land o'chocolate this tour, the AWT terrain, also known as "Waterworld". If you don't have the maps, grab 'em.
